SERIES by Ovation |
Ovation’s
Collectors has been a highly popular guitar series over
the years. The 2005 version of the Collectors offers
the traditional high level of specification that afficionados
of the marque have come to expect.
As such, the 2005 model features a peach of an Englemann
spruce top, whilst the 5-piece mahogany/maple laminate
neck carries an ebony fingerboard, with ebony also used
for the instrument’s bridge. A specially designed
‘Collectors’ fretboard marker sits at the
octave position, in the form of an attractively understated
abalone inlay. The guitar also features Ovation’s
versatile and innovative high spec OP-PRO preamp system.
The 2005 Collectors also marks the introduction of Ovation’s
new ‘deep contour’ Lyrachord GS body. Improved
ergonomic bowl shaping gives the guitar a more comfortable
feel and Ovation say that the new and extremely distinctive
body shaping provides jumbo guitar-sized acoustic response
with the feel of a smaller body instrument.

marks the 30th anniversary of Ovation’s Custom Legend
– a guitar that has accompanied many of the world’s
top entertainers on stage and in the studio. So Ovation
is proud to release the 1719-30CM Custom Legend 30th Anniversary
“Commemorative” model.
Using a combination of its original features along with
some new technology, this guitar shines as both a great
acoustic and acoustic/electric guitar. Limited in
production to 300 pieces, the new Custom Legend retains
original features such as a deep bowl, non-cutaway body
– Ovation’s fullest sounding body style –
plus original abalone rosette, hand-inlaid abalone purfling
around the body, classic ‘A’ brace pattern
and carved bridge.
New features include Ovation’s new OP-PRO preamp
that has been designed and road tested by Ovation’s
top artists, and the Ovation Original Patented Pickup
– the pickup that started the acoustic/electric
revolution.
Other features include a beautiful AAA grade ‘Bearclaw’
Spruce top, gloss walnut peghead face with abalone logo,
original Custom Legend carved walnut bridge and 5-piece
mahogany/maple neck with dual acting truss rod for precise
neck adjustment.

| Ovation
has redesigned and upgraded its popular Al DiMeola signature
model for 2004. These guitars feature acoustic and
acoustic/electric improvements, including modification
of the internal bracing and the addition of the new OP-Pro
preamplifier. Al has been closely involved with specifying
his requirements and testing the OP-Pro and is delighted
with the results.
As a result,Ovation’s new OP-Pro preamp is featured
in Al’s signature models as well as Ovation’s
new LX Series models.
New Al DiMeola models also feature Ovation’s Original
Patented Pickup, using the exact components from early
Ovation guitars. The combination of the modified
bracing pattern, new Ovation Original Patented Pickup
and OP-Pro preamp has made the guitar better than ever,
and Al has been using the re-designed model during recent
performances with great results.

past, this marks the first time a production model will
be available to players seeking the versatility and
convenience of a multi-neck guitar.
This newly designed acoustic/electric features a 12
string top neck and a 6 string neck below with a toggle
switch that allows the player to amplify either both
neck simultaneously or the individual necks alone through
a modified OP24+ preamp. Ovation has also developed
a new shallow cutaway, 3/4 size roundback body specifically
for this instrument.
